Jon Wohlfert

Founding Partner


  • Jon has been a lodging pioneer since his entry with Residence Inn in 1986.  At that time there were just a few extended stay hotels, now there are 10,000.  Currently, a similar effect is happening with Alternative Accommodations / Short term rentals.  AIRBNB has brought awareness to a once quite segment of corporate apartments and rental homes.  This awareness has translated to increased demand for non-traditional lodging.  What kind of demand are we talking about?  Huge!  At last count,  20% of Booking.coms reservations are for Alternative Accommodations.


  • This interest has created an atmosphere that is ideal for creating and investing into purpose build real estate for Alternative Accommodations. AltAccom is uniquely position to expand this segment by connecting capital, real estate and operating companies.


  • Jon is a 30+ year veteran of the lodging industry with deep experience in what we call today, the alternative accommodations market.  Holding leadership roles in Residence Inn, Summerfield Suites, BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, Extended Stay America, WaterWalk Hotel Apartments and RESIDE.. His roles include EVP Sales and Marketing, Managing Director of the Americas, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Technology Officer,  Chief Revenue Officer, President and Co-CEO


  • Jon graduated from RIT with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and then earned his MBA from Michigan State University.

Terry Strongin


Founding Partner

  • Terry Strongin is a founding partner of The AltAccom Group. Within the organization his primary focus is identifying acquiring multifamily properties, debt financing and building relationships with investors, joint venture partners and developing strategic relationship. In addition, Terry is involved in identifying market opportunities in the alternative accommodation real estate space and crafting the strategic direction of the company's investment activities. 


  • Changes in demographics, technology and lifestyle preferences coupled with a more mobile workforce has created an unmet demand for a differentiated home experience one that offers flexibility, comfort, human engagement and a community connection. Owners of properties that meet these changing renter demands can benefit by achieving outsized returns while maintain the fundamental low-risk profile of a traditional multifamily property.


  • Terry's business and real estate investment experience spans a broad spectrum of disciplines in the commercial real estate, finance, and securities industries having worked both, for large public companies as a high-level corporate executive, and as a principal in boutique real estate start-ups. Prior to co-founding The AltAccom Group, Terry was Executive Vice President of Reside Realty Group, Inc. owned by one of the largest corporate housing companies in the US. where he was head of real estate investments and capital market activities. Before that he ran his own real estate investment and capital advisory business, served as Executive Vice President and Director of Capital Markets for a national commercial lending operation where he oversaw all CMBS lending activities and loan sales and held the position of Vice President of commercial real estate lending at $1 billion NYSE listed Real Estate Investment Trust.


  • Terry earned a BS Degree in Business/Real Estate from San Francisco State University and holds both California and Florida real estate broker licenses.
